Spandan Nanda’s academic journey began with a strong foundation in science and mathematics. Completing his 10th-grade education at St. Xavier International School with an impressive CGPA of 9.8, Spandan showcased his aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving early on. His performance in 12th grade at St. Xavier High School, where he studied a rigorous curriculum that included Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, further solidified his commitment to the sciences. Although his score was a modest 62.2%, it served as a stepping stone toward his higher academic achievements.

Spandan pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Jupiter Degree College, graduating in 2019 with an impressive CGPA of 8.76. His academic curiosity led him to a postgraduate program in Chemistry at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) under Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University, where he excelled with a CGPA of 9.32. His deep-seated interest in the field of chemistry paved the way for his ongoing Ph.D. at the College of Basic Science and Humanities (CBSH), OUAT, where he has completed his coursework and is actively engaged in research.

Spandan Nanda’s professional journey is marked by his significant contribution as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at the BPCL-Biofuel Project, CAET, OUAT, from April 2022 to April 2023. In this role, he was deeply involved in pioneering research that aligns with the global shift toward sustainable energy solutions. His work focused on the extraction and processing of biomass, highlighting his commitment to advancing bioenergy technologies.

During his tenure, Spandan worked on diverse projects, including the BOD & COD analysis of wastewater at Tata Steel Plant, Kalinga Nagar, during his graduation. His postgraduate projects further demonstrated his expertise, with a minor project on the extraction of Europium using different extractants, and a major project on the synthesis and application of Fe2O3@SiO2.Ag from red mud.
