Dr. Tadas Matijošius hails from Vilnius, Lietuva, where he embarked on his academic journey at Vilnius Martynas Mazvydas Secondary School. He pursued his passion for bioengineering at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, culminating in a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Bioengineering and Nanobiotechnology, respectively. His thirst for knowledge led him to the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC), where he earned his Doctoral degree in Chemistry under the guidance of Dr. Svajus Asadauskas.

Dr. Matijošius has traversed various roles in the field of tribology, starting from his early practice at VU Institute of Biochemistry and JSC “Biocentras”. He then delved into research and engineering at FTMC, specializing in tribology lab, where he rose to the ranks of Junior Researcher, Researcher, and currently serves as the Head of Tribology Laboratory since 2023. Simultaneously, he contributes as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Vytautas Magnus University, focusing on mechanical, energy, and biotechnology engineering within the Tribology lab.
