Alanda A. Kamana embarked on his academic journey at the National School of Architecture (ENA) in Rabat, Morocco, where he earned his Architect Diploma. During his studies, his focus extended beyond architecture, encompassing Urban Design & Research, Territorial Planning, Construction Technology, Urban Policy, Landscape Architecture, and Structural Engineering. His training included internships in architectural firms and research institutions, providing him with a diverse skill set.

Professional Endeavors:

As a seasoned Architect and Urban Designer, Alanda has been a key player in various architectural firms, most notably as a Project Manager at Cabinet GHESQUIERE in Tangier, Morocco. His responsibilities included overseeing research, design processes, project management, and on-site implementation. Notably, he achieved remarkable success, winning five first prizes in architectural, landscape, and urban design competitions during his tenure.

In parallel, Alanda co-founded and currently serves as the CEO of Daba.Cities, an environmental and social enterprise. Daba.Cities, with its multicultural and transdisciplinary team, aims to promote and implement antifragile and sustainable urban practices in city centers. The organization focuses on optimizing existing urban areas to slow down urban expansion, reverse environmental degradation, and combat climate change.

His leadership extends beyond the professional realm, as he served as the President of the Rwandan Community Abroad - Moroccan Chapter. In this role, he directly engaged with Rwandan and Moroccan officials to address challenges within the community, organizing and coordinating various activities representing his country.

Alanda is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Architecture, Planning, and Design (SAP+D) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguerir, Morocco. His research focuses on Strategic Spatial Planning in East African Cities. Simultaneously, he serves as the Academic Quality Assurance Coordinator in the Pedagogical Development and Innovation Unit at SAP+D. In this capacity, he ensures the quality standards, methods, and procedures of lectures are met, evaluating the effectiveness of existing syllabi and curricula.
