Subsequently, he pursued his 12th grade in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology at B.G.S Science P.U. College, Kadur, achieving a score of 45.5%. Vinay continued his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Chemistry, and Botany from Sahyadri Science College (Autonomous), Shimoga, affiliated with Kuvempu University, where he achieved a notable score of 54.83%.

His academic zeal led him to pursue a Master's degree in Wildlife and Management at Kuvempu University, where he excelled with an impressive percentage of 68.94%. This laid the groundwork for his future endeavors in the field of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Biology.

Vinay Kumar's professional journey unfolds with his role as a Research Assistant at the Tiger Cell (NTCA), Karnataka Forest Department, Bengaluru, a position he assumed from August 1, 2023. Prior to this, he served as a Research Scholar at the Department of P.G. Studies and Research in Wildlife and Management, Kuvempu University, from September 11, 2017, to June 26, 2023.

During his tenure as a Research Scholar, Vinay successfully completed his Ph.D. in Wildlife and Management, focusing on the "Ecology and Conservation of Blackbuck Antilope cervicapra in Basur Amruth Mahal Kaval Blackbuck Conservation Reserve, Karnataka." This marks a significant milestone in his academic and professional journey.
