Dr. Gyeung Ho Choi embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Sung Kyun Kwan University, Seoul, Korea, in February 1986. Following this, he pursued a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL, USA, completing his degree in December 1988. His master's thesis focused on numerical investigations of coal-fueled diesel engines under the guidance of Dr. Stuart R. Bell. Dr. Choi continued his academic pursuits by earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama in May 1992, with a dissertation titled "An Investigation of Coal-Water Slurry as a Compression Ignition Engine Fuel" under the mentorship of Dr. Stuart R. Bell.

Professional Endeavors

After completing his education, Dr. Choi took on various roles in academia and industry. Notably, he served as a Research Fellow at the Mining & Mineral Resources Research Institute, University of Alabama, from September 1990 to August 1991. He later became a Section Chief at the Department of Engine Test, Hyundai Motor Company, Korea, from March 1992 to February 1993. Dr. Choi's academic career includes positions such as Professor at Keimyung University's Mechanical & Automotive Engineering Department (March 1993 - February 2008) and, presently, as a Professor at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology (DGIST) since June 2010.

In addition to academic roles, Dr. Choi has held leadership positions, including CEO of EROOM G&G Co., Ltd (a KOSDAQ Company) from December 2000 to September 2009.
