Mersha Minwuyelet Kassa’s academic journey began in Ethiopia, where he cultivated a passion for biology. After completing his School Leaving Certificate from Debrework Senior Secondary School in 1985 E.C., he pursued higher education at Bahir Dar University. There, he earned his Diploma in Biology in 1987 E.C., laying the foundation for his future contributions to education and science. Continuing his studies at the same institution, he achieved his B.Ed. Degree in Biology in 1999 E.C. with an impressive cGPA of 3.28. This period ignited his deep interest in biology education and its impact on student learning outcomes. His dedication to academics and desire to enhance his expertise culminated in earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Biology from Bahir Dar University in July 2002 E.C. With a cGPA of 3.82, Mersha demonstrated his intellectual capacity and commitment to academic excellence.

Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate at Bahir Dar University, furthering his research and academic involvement in Biology Education. His dedication to deepening his knowledge and contributing to the field of biology education signifies his drive for professional growth and academic advancement.

Mersha’s career in education spans over two decades, where he has significantly impacted both students and his colleagues. His professional experience began in September 1997, working as a Junior & High School Teacher. Over the next decade, he honed his teaching skills, earning a reputation for excellence in pedagogy and student engagement. His passion for education led him to become a Lecturer at the College of Teachers Education in November 2010, a role he continues to this day. As a lecturer, he focuses on teacher education, biology instruction, and innovative teaching methodologies.

Throughout his career, Mersha has also taken on numerous leadership roles. He served as the HIV/AIDS Focal Person at Finote Selam College of Teacher Education from November 2003 to December 2009, collaborating with various NGOs and educational institutions to raise awareness and educate students about HIV/AIDS prevention. His leadership extended to research, where he contributed as a Research Team Member at Finote Selam College from September 2006 to 2007, further highlighting his collaborative and forward-thinking approach.

Mersha’s research endeavors have centered on innovative teaching methodologies and the use of multimedia to enhance biology education. His dedication to improving educational practices is evident through his groundbreaking research on Dynamic Classroom Integrated Instruction in biology teaching. Among his significant contributions is his original work titled “Using Formula New Approach of Multiplication Table”, which was published in the International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research and Engineering (IJASRE). He has also been involved in HIV/AIDS research, particularly focusing on the role of students in preventing the spread of the disease, an effort that was published in 2006 E.C.
