Greyson Zabron Nyamoga’s academic journey began in his home village of Lusinga, Kilolo, Iringa, Tanzania. His foundational education was completed at Ng’ang’ange and Lusinga Primary Schools, followed by secondary education at Tosamaganga Secondary School. The pursuit of higher education saw him enrolling at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 2003. His commitment to academic excellence continued with a Master of Science in Forest Economics from SUA in 2008, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Poverty Analysis from USRF/REPOA and ISS, Dar es Salaam, in 2009. These formative years laid the groundwork for his future academic and professional accomplishments.

Nyamoga’s quest for knowledge took him beyond Tanzanian borders. He pursued a Master of Sustainable Development Practices (MDP) at the University of Florida in the USA, which enriched his understanding of global sustainable development issues. His academic trajectory culminated in a PhD in Forest/Resource Economics from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Ås, Norway, in 2019. This diverse academic background has equipped him with a robust understanding of forestry, economics, and sustainable development.

At Sokoine University of Agriculture, he serves as a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Forest and Environmental Economics. His tenure at SUA, spanning over 15 years, includes roles as Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer, and Tutorial Assistant.
