Dr. Folasade P. May is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and serves in the Vatche & Tamar Manoukian Division of Digestive Diseases. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University, followed by a Master of Philosophy in Epidemiology from the University of Cambridge. She obtained her M.D. from Harvard Medical School and completed her internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. May further specialized in gastroenterology through the UCLA Specialty Training and Advanced Research (STAR) Program and earned her Ph.D. in Health Policy and Management from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Her research focuses on health disparities, preventive health, colorectal cancer screening, and improving access to care for underserved populations. She has published extensively on strategies to enhance cancer prevention and equitable healthcare delivery. Dr. May’s work has earned her recognition for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine. A passionate educator and clinician, she continues to mentor future physicians and contribute to policy-oriented health research that addresses real-world healthcare inequities.

Adedeji Taiwo Olugbemiga is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at Osun State University, Osogbo, and a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital. He obtained his MBChB from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2001, followed by residency training in Otorhinolaryngology at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, culminating in FMCORL (Nigeria, 2012) and FWACS (ORL, 2014). He further enhanced his surgical expertise with specialized training in middle ear surgery and endoscopic sinus surgery in India in 2013. Over the years, he has held several academic and clinical leadership roles, including Head of the ENT Department at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital since 2022 and Associate Lecturer at LAUTECH. His research focuses on otology, rhinology, head and neck surgery, hearing disorders, and occupational health, with more than 25 published works, over 10 manuscripts under review, 471 citations, an h-index of 12, and an i10-index of 13. He has also contributed to consultancy projects such as audiometric screening and counseling for industrial workers in mining environments. With a strong commitment to advancing ENT practice and medical education, he continues to combine clinical service, research, and teaching to improve patient care and build capacity in Otorhinolaryngology.
