Liping Zhang's academic journey began at Sichuan University (SCU), Chengdu, China. In 2015, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology, ranking fourth in his class. This laid the foundation for his pursuit of higher education. Subsequently, Liping pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Technology at SCU, completing his degree in 2019 under the guidance of Prof. Liangyin Chu. His research interests during this period focused on membrane materials and technology, smart controlled-release and targeting drug delivery, and advanced polymer nanomaterials for cancer theranostics.

After obtaining his Ph.D., Liping ventured into postdoctoral research. From 2019 to 2020, he worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Electronic Science and Technology in Chengdu, China. Following this, he continued his postdoctoral research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) from 2021 to the present, under the mentorship of Prof. Ben Zhong Tang.
