Silvia Saikia embarked on her academic journey at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), where she pursued a B.Tech in Energy Engineering, graduating in 2017. Subsequently, she continued her academic pursuits at Tezpur University, completing an M.Tech in Energy Engineering in 2019. Currently, Silvia is engaged in a Ph.D. program at IITG, focusing on the design and operation of a fixed bed pyrolyzer for the thermochemical conversion of municipal solid waste.
Professional Endeavors
During her winter internship at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, Assam, in 2016-2017, Silvia contributed to the assessment of coal quality in the North-Eastern region of India. Complementing this experience, she served as a Teaching Assistant for the NPTEL Online Certification course in Municipal Solid Waste Management for two years.
