Agerie Mengstie Zeleke embarked on his academic journey with a passion for maternal and neonatal health. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia, laying the foundation for his career in clinical midwifery. His dedication to advancing maternal healthcare led him to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Midwifery at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia, between February 2014 and June 2016. Agerie has amassed extensive experience in midwifery education and clinical practice. From April 2012 to September 2014, he worked as a Clinical Midwife Expert at the University of Gondar Specialized Hospital, where he provided comprehensive maternal care, including antenatal and postnatal services, labor and delivery management, neonatal care, and family planning. His expertise in handling complex deliveries, including cesarean sections and operative procedures, solidified his reputation as a skilled midwife.

In May 2016, Agerie transitioned to an academic role at the University College of Tedda Health Sciences in Gondar, Ethiopia. Over the next eight years, he served as a Lecturer and Researcher while also contributing to the Research Ethics Board and directing continuous professional development initiatives.
